Carol Jung is an associate attorney with Augustin Egelsee LLP that is passionate about advocating for the rights of people with disabilities. She brings a decade of experience working within the disability community, first as a project coordinator and now, as an attorney. Carol has a background in psychology. She graduated from the University of California, San Diego, with a major if psychology and a minor in biology. She then went on to graduate school at the University of Southern California and earned her Master's in Social Work and a Master's in Public Administration in 2001. This brings a unique perspective to her practice of law. Carol's involvement within the disability community began when she was hired as a project coordinator in 2001 for the University of Southern California, University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. As the project coordinator, she developed, obtained funding for, and coordinated special education, abuse and neglect, and multicultural programs for individuals with disabilities and their families. During her four years with the UCEDD, she gained an appreciation for the difficulties people with disabilities and families face on a daily basis in accessing services that they were legally entitled to. This fueled her decision to go to law school. During law school, Carol furthered her involvement within the disability field. She served as a law clerk for Protection and Advocacy, Inc., the Disability Rights Legal Center, and Augustin Egelsee, LLP. She graduated from Loyola Law School in 2008, obtaining top honors in her Administrative Law and Mental Health and the Legal System courses. Since her graduation and acceptance into the California Bar, Carol has continued to show her dedication to advocating on behalf of children with special needs in accessing the education system. Carol has represented families throughout Southern California, from Santa Barbara to San Diego with favorable results. She is particularly sensitive to the difficulties that families often face in obtaining services for their children and goes above and beyond to ensure that their rights are protected.
